"Research has no limits, so throughout the years we have worked on improving our product and proprietary manufacturing equipment"

June 1st 2005GOERTZ by Alpha-Core has announced the introduction of flatwire, a product designed specifically to address the needs of the home integrator and A/V installer. GOERTZ flatwire is a 13-AWG design that delivers measurably improved sonic performance over traditional speaker wire because of its low inductance and resistance characteristics, all in a flat, compact package. flatwire is truly an installer grade cable with an ETL, CL2 flame rating that allows it to be installed inside wall panels and floor partitions. Due to the extremely slim profile of flatwire, it can also be placed under carpets or behind baseboards. It is highly flexible and may be easily snaked through existing conduits if desired.

Air Core Foil Inductors (update 6/30/2003)

Since we introduced our Air Core Inductors in 1997 they have become standard fixtures in many of the Worlds finest speakers, and thousand of audiophiles have improved their sound by personally upgrading their crossover circuits with our products.

Alpha-Core developed the combination of high grade OFC copper with polypropylene film as the dielectric, wound onto a non-hygroscopic core able to endure the sometimes high working temperature without long term shrinkage. We knew that a loose center will allow relative motion of layers due to electromagnetic forces, leading to FM distortion, so we chose LEXAN™ a high strength, super stable engineering resin for our cores.
We also developed the vacuum fusing process in order to further preserve the long-term integrity of our inductors..

Research has no limits, so throughout the years we have worked on improving our product and proprietary manufacturing equipment. As a result we are now winding our inductors even tighter, to closer tolerances and at increased productivity. Inductors are calibrated within 2.5% of nominal, wound with superior tightness and fused at both ends, hermetically protecting the conductor (be it copper or fine silver) against tarnishing with time.

We also increased the number of standard values.

Thank you very much for your continued support of our audio products.

AG2 Speaker Wire, TQ2 interconnect

HI FI Review (Sept 2001)

"Best Buy of The Year 2001 Awards" for Micro Purl Silver AG2K

"Until I heard Goertz AG 2 Veracity, I thought that all silver cables sounded bright.  Incredibly, the AG 2's in my system gave me better bass, broader sound stage, and the detail, oh my, what detail.  If I didn't know any better, I'd say my system appeared to have no cable at all!"

      Subject: I am delighted !  (Update 6/1/2000)

I just purchased and installed a pair of your Micro Purl interconnects between my pre-amp and amplifier. What did I have to lose with your three week full refund offer? NO WAY are you getting these cables back ! They have only been in my system for 24 hours and I simply cannot believe the improvements in bass, reduction of midrange glare and clean accurate highs. Acoustic bass, vocals, cymbal shimmer are so impressive I am awestruck. I should also mention that the cables previously in my system cost three times more than the Micro Purls!

Hearing is believing and there’s no doubt that your cables are far superior to anything I have tried in my system before. Thank you for a superb product.

Almost every day we receive letters like this from happy users who invariably ask: "How is it that your products trounce other cables that cost many times as much".

The answer is not that our cables are too cheap. - It is the others that are too expensive.

Audio cables, just like other merchandise, are marketed and priced to maximize profits, and we at Alpha-Core are neither fools nor philanthropists.

We can easily demonstrate stunning benefits from just a one meter pair of Micro Purls not only with High End gear but also with honest quality $500-$1,000 systems. We will much rather sell 10,000 pairs at a price we find reasonable and fair, than 100 pairs to the High End crowd at a price we can only call ridiculous.

We believe that even declared High End audiophiles are now looking for value, and we will not have one product for the masses and a functionally identical "Signature Series" in fancy make up at anywhere from 3 to 20 times the price. We do not consider such a policy honest marketing.

However, if you feel more comfortable paying $500 for a one meter pair of Micro Purls, we will take your money, and we will also give you a framed receipt to hang on your wall.

After all, the customer is always right.

TQ 2 'Triode Quartz' Solid Fine Silver (Update 3/1/2000)

Since we introduced the new "Micro Purl" interconnect cables many customers has asked us whether we are planning a new version of our popular TQ1 cable incorporating the same features which have proven so successful in "Micro Purl". The new TQ 2 is made in similar fashion as Micro Purl, by twisting the bundle of solid fine silver conductors and copper ground plane in line with the extrusion of a tough, crystal clear jacket of high grade polymer.

Analogue-Like dynamics from CD

Seamless top-to-bottom smoothness

Incredible detail and 3D imaging

Micro Purl, supplements the patented Alpha-Core GOERTZ ultra low series inductance speaker cables. Like the GOERTZ cables Micro Purl is available in high purity OFC copper and solid fine silver. Separate patents are pending on Micro Purl.

The term "strip line" describes a transmission line consisting of ribbon shaped signal carrier situated between two equally wide, grounded ribbon conductors. The strip line may be regarded as a simple variation of the coaxial line although it has many advantages over the latter.  In Micro-Purl the architecture of the strip line has been reversed by placing the signal carriers on either side of a common ground plane, separated by layers of micro thin dielectric. When energized, the field is largely confined to the region between the three parallel conductors. Thus, with conductors consisting of thin foil and separated by an even thinner dielectric, the outside field is close to zero and, by the same token, the line is closed to a high degree to interference from external magnetic fields and RF.

The signal carriers and ground plane in Micro Purl consist of solid copper or silver  2mm wide by 50 microns thick. The three layer sandwich measuring 2.5mm x 250 microns is protected by a sturdy 6mm (1/4") diameter solid extrusion of a clear, high grade polymer.  The noise rejection inherent in the thin sandwich construction is further enhanced by twisting (purling) the ribbon bundle in line with the extrusion process.

  • The solid conductors eliminate galvanic strand interaction.
  • The active dielectric is limited to the micro thin film separating the conductors,   greatly reducing stored charges and tribo-electric noise.
  • The geometry ensures unsurpassed low series inductance virtually eliminating high frequency roll-off.
  • Truly balanced construction for improved interference rejection and signal-to-noise ratio.
  • Twisted (purled) for ease of handling and further enhanced noise rejection.
